The Boot Inn is an idyllic country pub, situated in Lapworth, with exposed brick walls and rustic wooden furnishings, serving up traditional pub classics with a modern twist and with an open log fire to keep you toasty.
Self-taught chef Harshad Chavda (hash) serves up new menus with the seasons and lives food, from reading mountains of recipes to trawling through the fresh spice markets around Birmingham in order to source the ingredients that often give his dishes the gentlest Asian twists. Relying on local producers as well as Asian supermarkets and coastal fish suppliers, his beef rendang – aromatic and hearty – is as sought after as classic fish & chips and burgers.
For Christmas, the Boot's menu includes Spiced Parsnip Soup, Beer-Braised Daube of Beef and a Baileys Cheesecake. At lunchtime The Boot Inn offer two courses for £21.95 or three for £24.95; in the evening, choose as you will from a wide menu or take advantage of their Christmas offer - £28.95 for three courses.

The Moat House is just outside the small Roman town of Alcester and close to the Worcestershire border, with the two stunning stately homes of Coughton Court (NT) and Ragley Hall (Home of the Marquis of Hertford). It is a fun, friendly gourmet spot serving the classics as well as authentic Italian pizzas, grills and steaks – all cooked on their wood-fired oven.
Some favourites from their newly-launched Christmas menu include Smooth Duck Liver and Port Pate, Slow Cooked Blade of Beef and a Clementine Posset for pudding. The Moat House are offering two courses for £20.95 or three courses for £23.95 at lunch time from their Christmas menu, or in the evening they offer three courses for £26.95.
