April/May 2025

Can you believe it’s officially spring? If you’re anything like me, you’ve been counting the days until the sun arrives. Don’t get me wrong, I love winter but I miss embracing the outdoors and being amongst nature. I’ve had enough of the darker nights and scraping ice off my car! There’s something so magical about the time of year: the sun is shining, nature is thriving and animals are emerging. It’s also a time for spring cleaning and organising for a fresh start, perfect if you’re looking for a relaxed mind ready for wedding planning.

My number one tip from the get-go is to work as a team, as the big day should reflect your love story and personality. Don’t get too caught up trying to please everyone else; it’s your day after all. Highlight all the most essential aspects of the wedding and make these a priority throughout the process. Set a clear budget for each element on a spreadsheet with how much you’re comfortable spending, the deadline for payments and how much balance is left to pay to keep on track. The fun part of wedding planning is finding dream-worthy suppliers who share your vision. Lucky for you, this issue is bursting with local talent with plenty of wedding planning experience. We have it all from top designers, photographers, florists, hairstylists, bakers, wedding planners and more.

Pull up a chair, grab a cuppa and enjoy!

Warwick Castle

Warwick Castle is truly magnificent and awe-inspiring, offering a warm and welcoming ambience. Couples can choose from a variety of beautiful locations to exchange their vows, whether it’s the charming Green Drawing Room, beneath the stunning chandelier in the elegant State Dining Room, or in the impressive Great Hall.

This historic venue provides the perfect backdrop for every couple. The castle’s exterior resembles a stunning Medieval fortress, perched by the River Avon and surrounded by lush greenery, creating a spectacular setting for events. The outdoor areas offer a range of picturesque photography spots, blending natural beauty with historic architecture. From the castle’s portcullis to the Central Courtyard, guests can enjoy breathtaking views surrounded by towers and ramparts, along with the delightful Conservatory Teahouse and Peacock Garden, which overlook the Pageant Field and River Avon.

The Great Hall, the heart of the castle, is a versatile space that has hosted many unforgettable weddings. Steeped in history, it’s the perfect place to say “I Do” in front of up to 120 guests. After the ceremony, the space can be transformed to accommodate wedding breakfasts for 120 guests and receptions for up to 180, showcasing its flexibility. Alternatively, couples can exchange vows in the State Dining Room beneath the stunning chandelier. This impressive room also makes an excellent bar area for Great Hall receptions, where guests can unwind before returning to the dancefloor. The State Dining Room can host 95 guests for ceremonies and 40 for seated meals. The chandelier is truly a standout feature!

For winter events or as an indoor option in summer, the State Rooms offer a warm and welcoming space for drinks receptions for up to 120 guests. The Green Drawing Room is perfect for more intimate ceremonies, accommodating up to 80.

Warwick Castle offers a range of additional services and experiences to elevate any event. Imagine being welcomed by a knight on horseback or flying a celebratory flag from the magnificent Guy’s Tower. Guests can even pose with birds of prey for photos or be surprised by mannequin knights coming to life. To enhance the magical atmosphere, Warwick Castle offers live musicians, including a harpist to accompany the bride down the aisle or a romantic string quartet for added elegance.
